TECHNICAL INSPECTION - ALL SERIES:
Technical Inspection is a review of your
replay of at least 1 lap of the race event. EDD has 2 cheat
detection programs. 1 program monitors the simulation live and
is resident on the drivers computer. Our post race cheat
detection program can detect all know cheats.
The Officials for each series may request a technical inspection
night. Officials must
announce technical inspection night at the drivers meeting prior to
that evening's events.
The officials will get replays from the
winner and 2 random finishing positions to be predetermined and announced at conclusion of event.
Replays to be emailed and received by Officials, within 10 minutes of the finish of the race, unless
working with Officials via Team Speak with technical issues relevant
to sending the replay.
Failure to submit a replay in the allotted
time will give the driver a forfeit of points and position for that
race.

CONDUCT AND PENALTY REVIEWS
This is administered as a review process.
A review is a request by a driver or Official to review an incident
at a race event. The review request must contain the
following:
A replay from your simulation, cut to one lap
with the incident in question
(How To).
This
must be sent to the
current review administrator
caltech@eddracing.net
within 24 hours after race.
The
administrator will have 3 drivers not involved
vote what level penalty, if any, and the review administrator will compile and figure the
average. He will file, then send all results to the director
of competition, the head official, the
officials of the series, and to those involved. If the results
of the review find a penalty for the offending driver, the results
of the review will be placed in the EDD forum.

LUCKY DAWG
Drivers in all divisions do not race
back to the line when a caution is waved. This
is for entire race until 20 laps to go.
After the leader takes 20 laps to go, drivers
race back to the line. When the caution waves
every driver must hold their position and pass the
flagman in the running order they were in when the
caution came out. The Lucky Dawg rule is in
effect for all divisions except for the following
sprint type racing series: Modified B-Mains,
Trans Am and ARCA.
Drivers do
race back to the line after 20 laps to go in the event. It is
up to the driver to know the leader of the event has taken the 10 to
go lap.
The Lucky Dawg
is the 1st car 1 lap down after the cars thake the caution. If
the eligible LD is involved in the caution, then the next eligible
car is the lucky dawg.
Lucky Dawg
recipient must pit on the 2nd caution lap. Upon exit the
driver must exit the pit safely but faster than the pit road speed
limit, and/or drive directly onto the racetrack after exit.
This will give the driver the End Of Longest Line penalty (EOLL).
At this point driver stays in that position, according to his
spotter for the duration of the caution period. When the
flagman gives the green flag, the Officials will give the driver his
lap back. The drive MUST be get the EOLL penalty to receive
the LD.
After the
driver gets the EOLL penalty, inform the officials and the field you
have the penalty by typing EOLL in the chat. After you are in
position with the EOLL penalty, as stated, stay in that position and
let your spotter guide you. This whole process is to enable
you to not hold up the other lapped cars that will need to pull up
on the inside for the restart without penalty for passing the LD.
Official will
give you 1 lap back after the green flag waves. If the
official does not get the driver's lucky dawg, driver holds
position. This occurs with a miscue or a quick caution that
did not give the official time to get the lap back. Every
attempt will be made to assure that the final standings place you in
the right position if there is no more cautions and you did not
receive the lap back before final standings at the end of the event.

CHAT RULES
All racers
must use Team Speak, our communication program at edd, and be able
to hear and understand instructions from the officials.
The
purpose of the following rules are for Officials to run the event
and for drivers to concentrate on
their driving without verbal or visual distractions.
During caution
periods it is important to keep the channel free for drivers and
officials to find their positions, and also to hear the driver's
spotter, who is giving warnings and positioning to the driver.
Verbal chatting is encouraged for line up issues only.
The following chat rules are in effect for all series:
The only typed
chat allowed during an event is a warp chat (ie: 98W)
and "EOLL".
Autochats may
be used for the following: pitting, pit exit, pass low, pass high.
no
“sorry”, “thank you”, etc. Wait until after the event
to communicate well wishes to other competitors. This applies
to caution laps also.
No verbal or
typed chatting at all during race. Officials will warn, give final warning,
then black flag or eject from the event if not followed.
No chatting during
cautions until the fields is straightened out unless it has to do
with where you are supposed to be on the track
Do not chat
immediately after a caution – Keep quiet until lucky dawg is
announced, unless a line up issue
No chat on one to go lap
or after admin says "going green"
No chat about anything
other than the race at hand during cautions
During practice you are
encouraged to move to another channel if you need to have a lengthy
discussion with another driver about any subject
If you have an issue with
a driver or admin, do not put yourself at risk with a penalty.
Talk it out after the race
with the driver or an admin away from the Team Speak race channel –
this is a simulation and it’s meant to be fun as well as competitive.
Any chatting after an official's warning will lead to penalties.
Officials
must not approach any drivers concerning incidents on the track that
night that involved themselves personally without a Staff member
present.

SERVER RULES
caution with under
20 to go, all
lapped cars must drive through pits, without stopping on their turn
to pit. This will only be done for 1 caution period under the
20 to go mark.
Wrecking
under pace laps. After the Pace car has picked up the
field if a pacing racer runs into or causes a wreck under caution
(such as wheel spin) and causes damage to any competitor as a
result, the driver will receive a Level 3 penalty.
Self Spin Rule.
If you bring out a caution with a self spin 2 times in a race, you
will be asked to park the car. Failure to do so, if caught on a
subsequent review of the race, offending driver will receive no
points for that event.
Warp Rule. If a driver sees his car
number typed (ie: 98W) more than 1 time by different drivers, he is
to pull immediately out of the groove and fall to the rear of the
field. Failure to do so, if caught on a subsequent review of
the race, offending driver will receive a level 4 penalty. If
the warp driver does not respond to the warp warnings, and is a
cause of an incident as a result, driver will be subject to both the
Warp Rule Penalty and the incident penalty served consecutively.
Server Glitch occuring after half way point of race will be an
official race. If a Glitch occurs before halfway. 1 attempt
will be made to restart the race.
Black
Flags: We will not
clear black flags. Driver must pit under green to clear blacks. 99% of time black flags occur from
an error of judgment by passing cars outside of you entering the pits.
Super
Speedway Yellow Line Rule: No driver is to gain position
by passing under the yellow line. If passing to avoid an
incident, driver must give position back immediately. Passing
2 wheels under the yellow line at any SuperSpeedway will result in a last
place finish for the offender.
Complete
Restart:
All 3 top
series may use discretion for
1 restart, if caution comes out before last car crosses the S/F line.
Late Model/Modified Tour
has 1 discretion restart if there is wreck within the first
completed lap.
Restarts:
Drivers have every right (and
are encouraged) to try and get your lap back during restarts.
If you do not get past the leaders, fall back, the LUCKY DAWG RULE
is in effect. DO NOT
hold up the folks in second, third, etc. Go high or go low depending
on track unless racing for position. Do not get
yourself into avoidable situations with the leaders that may result
in penalties.

SERIES RULES
Cup, Grand National, Truck, Late Model/Modified Tour, ARCA and Trans Am Series Rules
Cup Series - Set and Pit stop variable,
and chosen and announced the week before the event - 35% race. Cup will be following the
Sprint Cup schedule and race the Monday after each Sprint Cup race.
Grand National Series - 3x expert setups
- 30% race. GN will be following the
Nationwide Grand National schedule and race the Tuesday
preceding each GN race.
Truck Series - 2x expert setups - 30%
race. Truck series will be
following the Craftsman Truck Series as outlined by NASCAR for 2009.
Late Model
series - 2x expert setups - 100 laps. This series
has a schedule of a circuit of small tracks through out the country.
Modified Tour
Series - 1x variable setups - 50 laps - no cautions, sprint races at
a schedule of small tracks. This series runs as the B-Main
before the Late Models on Wednesday nights. This is a handicap
division.
Trans Am
Series - 1x variable setups - variable length - no cautions, sprint
races. This is a handicap division.
ARCA Series -
1x expert Grand National Sets - 30% race, 3x pit - no cautions,
Sprint races. This is a handicap division.
This is a
rookie series and as such is handicapped to make it harder for the
more experienced drivers to win. The handicapped driver list is
every driver who has won a Cup Series race or any championship at
EDD. This list is posted on the forum under the ARCA/TA link.
This list is subject to additions. (Road course ringers will
end up with the handicapped group.)
Details about race lengths and pit settings for Trans-am will be
noted on the Trans-am track list. Usual server times will apply.
There will only be 5 minutes of practice and 5 minutes of happy
hour. It's recommend you be on the server to practice as their will
be 1 pit stop in every race (maybe more then 1 in ARCA depending on
the track). It is a good idea to practice getting on and off pit
road. You will also note that not every race will require a full
tank a fuel to make it full distance so pit road strategy could come
into play.
ARCA Series handicap rule: is pretty straight forward.
The server will be set with a full pace lap and below is how it will
be done.
The handicapped drivers will stay on the starting grid and not move
until the polesitter is 9 seconds ahead via the F2 Standings Window.
At that point, the leader of the handicapped drivers will accelerate
to pace speed. The cars behind the handicapped leader will line up
single file behind him. The handicapped drivers will maintain pace
speed, 10 seconds behind the polesitter until the green flag starts
the race at which point they are free to accelerate to race speed.
They all should maintain thier positions, however, until they have
crossed the start/finish line or else risk getting black flagged for
passing before the start/finish line. It is possible to pass on the
high side of the track before the line and is up to the individual
driver on whether or not to pass. The game will control the race so
if one of the handicapped drivers gets a black flag, they will have
to pit to clear it, no exceptions.
Trans-am Series handicap rule: The server will be set
with a half a pace lap (unless otherwise noted).
The handicapped drivers will stay on the starting grid and not move
until the polesitter is one second below the handicapped time via
the F2 Standing Window (ex. Daytona RC's handicap time is 7 seconds.
Once the pole sitter gets 6 seconds ahead, the 2nd group will roll
off). At that point, the leader of the handicapped drivers will
accelerate to pace speed. The cars behind the handicapped leader
will line up single file behind him. The handicapped drivers will
maintain pace speed at the allotted handicap time, behind the
polesitter. When the green flag starts the race, they will MAINTAIN
pace speed until the leader cross the S/F line at which point they
can accelerate to race speed. They all should maintain thier
positions, however, until they have crossed the start/finish line or
else risk getting black flagged for passing before the start/finish
line. It is possible to pass on the high side of the track before
the line and is up to the individual driver on whether or not to
pass. The game will control the race so if one of the handicapped
drivers gets a black flag, they will have to pit to clear it, no
exceptions.
Special note concerning the ARCA races at Daytona and
Montreal. At Daytona the only handicap for the drivers
will be starting at the back of the field. Reason for this is
because of the nature of plate racing, they will never catch the
lead group of cars. At Montreal the handicap rule will shift from
the ARCA series rule to the Trans-am series rule because it is a
road course. The gap will be set between 15 and 20 seconds handicap
time instead of the usual 10. The actual handicap time will be
posted on the ARCA track list as soon as its available.
Race Rules For ARCA and Trans AM:
There will be no restarts period unless there is a big foul up with
the 2nd group of cars. There are no special rules needed for this
division but all other rules for EDD will apply.
Server
will be up at 7:30pm EST for practice the night of the scheduled
event.
Drivers
meetings will be at 9pm EST sharp –We will try to keep within 10 minutes of this
time for late arrivals – but you must let someone
know that is racing that you will be late
Qualifying
will be 5 minutes after Drivers Meeting or at 9:15
5 minute
happy hour after qualifying
Attempts
are made to start race no later than 9:25
Since all series besides cup are good feeder series into the Cup series,
we will allow new racers to join in the fun. It is
the responsibility of both the new driver and the
series veterans to keep the spirit of patience and
learning.
New Drivers
are strongly encouraged to start in the back of the field for your first couple
races to get a feel for racing with EDD.
All new
paint files must be available for download 2 days
prior to race.
This will be a trophy season for all
series.
Each Champion from every series receives a trophy.
The shipping must
be payed for by the recipient.
We will also be honoring additional racers
with virtual awards for the
following voted by the racers:
- Rookie of the Year
